Year 3

13TH JULY 2020

Hello Year 3,

We hope that you are all staying fit and well. Please find your latest Home Learning activities below. There is a Maths and English activity for each day. They come with a Powerpoint, but don’t worry if you don’t have Powerpoint on your computer, all the activities are available on the PDF slides. There are also sheets which you can print off, but to save your paper and ink, you can simply write the answers in your Home Learner book.

Have fun!

Hello Class 3, in the links above (home learning additional worksheets) are some new home learning activities for you to be getting on with. I hope you are all okay! Don't forget to  email if you need anything at all! From Miss Reeves :)

Hello Class 3,

I hope you and your families are all well, and you are able to enjoy the beautiful weather we are having lately.  I know it's a bit of a strange time at the moment, but hopefully we'll be back at school together soon.  But whilst we're all at home I've got a few tasks for you.

Please keep practising your times tables. It would be great if you could all move up again on your challenges, and Times Table Rock Stars will help you with this. Have a look at the Year 3 and 4 spellings, picking a few every week to focus on.  If you're not sure what they mean, look them up in a dictionary, and then use a thesaurus to find any alternative words.  If you scroll down, you will see I have added some more links for English and Science, and there is also a link for activity ideas in your spare time.

You could always keep a diary of things you have done or made, draw a picture and write a few sentences so you can remember.  Maybe you've been helping in the kitchen baking lots of sweet treats, or maybe you've been planting seeds in the garden.  Maybe you've been super sporty and managed to keep up with Joe Wicks every morning (I tried and failed!).  I know myself and Ms Conroy will want to hear about everything you've been up to.

Keep smiling everyone, we miss you.

Year 3

Welcome to Year 3!

We are looking forward to an exciting year.  It is quite a big change to move from the Infants to the Juniors, and Ms Conroy and myself are keen to make the transition as smooth as possible for every child.

My aim as class teacher is to create a nurturing, supportive environment and encourage children's independence and confidence as they begin working within the Junior school.

As parents, you can support your child by ensuring they take responsibility for their belongings, bringing book bags to school every day and having a P.E. kit in school. It is important for children to have an established routine at home which allows time for homework and shared reading.

  • Spelling tests will be on Wednesday mornings.
  • Times table challenges will be on Wednesday mornings.
  • P.E. is on a Tuesday afternoon.  Please make sure your child has their P.E. kit with them so that they can take part.  They will need a white t-shirt, black shorts and pumps or trainers.  All jewellery must be removed by parents before they come to school.
