PARTNERSHIP WITH PARENTS
We aim to foster close relationships between home and school so that we can work together to support your child in developing and achieving their full potential.
Parents in school
We have a special assembly for parents to enable you to join us for class assemblies, good work displays, presentation of awards and certificates.
If you wish to see your child's teacher, we will be happy to arrange this. It is difficult for staff to talk in the mornings when they are required to supervise the children, but staff are usually available at 3.15 p.m. The Head teacher is normally available at the beginning and end of the day, or by appointment at other times.
Each term there is an opportunity for you to discuss your child’s progress with the class teacher. Every summer term you will receive a written report about your child’s progress. We also run sessions to give parents the opportunity to find out about particular aspects of the wide curriculum we provide, in a relaxed and informative way. Parents are always invited to join us for special events such as Health Week and Music Week.
Lists of dates for “Parent Assemblies” and the “Academic Year” are sent out at the beginning of the academic year (autumn term). Diary dates are sent out termly and regular newsletters are issued to keep you informed of news.
We also provide training opportunities for parents. Courses are varied and some can result in further qualifications e.g. NVQ’s.
Please note that the school, including the playground, is a NO SMOKING AREA. Please help us to protect the health of the children by keeping to this rule. Dogs are not allowed onto the school site.
Educational Visits and Residential Trips
Throughout your child's school career your child will go on Educational visits. These trips are throughly risk assessed with your child's safety parmount to the visit. Majority of the school trips are based at Birmingham City Council centres and our school minibuses are used to transport the children safetly.
If you have any concerns about a trip and your child taking part, please do not hesitate to contact your class teacher.
