Special Educational Needs and Disability (S.E.N.D)

SENDCO/ Inclusion Manager: Mrs M Croome - contact number 0121 464 7720 - email: confidential@sundridge.bham.sch.uk.

SEND Governor: Miss K Davies.

Local authorities MUST ensure that parents/carers, children and young people are involved in discussions and decisions about every aspect of their SEND. They will plan outcomes and make provision to meet them.

To help us to do this we have prepared an School Information Report which can be seen by clicking the link below.

The School Information Report:

  • Provides information on what SEND services children, young people and parents can expect from our school.
  • Gives details of provision from outside agencies who support pupils attending our school.

Knowing what choices are available gives you more choice and therefore more control over what support is right for your child.

See our School Information Report below:

Additional Information:

Children who are identified with additional needs are nurtured in order that they make good academic, social and emotional progress in school.

Those pupils who are identified as having additional needs, will have an Special Educational Needs and Disability Needs Based Plan with termly or half - termly targets on. These are sent home to parents/carers. Class teachers work towards these targets in school, with the help of support staff and sometimes, professionals from outside agencies.

Children are given additional 1:1 or small group support in class. We always encourage parents/carers to support pupils at home. You support is always appreciated.

We have many professionals who support us. They are:

  • Educational Psychologists
  • Pupil and School Support Service
  • Beacon Behaviour Support for Schools
  • Occupational Therapists
  • Communication and Autism Team
  • Outreach
  • NHS Speech and Language Therapists
  • Talk Therapy
  • School Nurse Team

If you have any concerns regarding your child's progress, please speak to your child's class teacher, or make an appointment to see Mrs Croome (SENDCO/ Inclusion Manager) in school.
