Year 3

Welcome to Year 3!

Hello, my name is Miss Harrison and I am the Year 3 teacher. It can feel like quite a big change as you move from the infant to the juniors, but myself and our supporting members of staff will all work together to make the transition as smooth as possible.

In Year 3, we are lucky enough to be supported by Mrs Southern, Miss Haynes, Ms Conroy, Mr Westwood and Miss Jones. My aim as class teacher is to create a nurturing, supportive environment and encourage children's independence and confidence as they begin working within the Junior school.

As parents, you can support your child by ensuring they take responsibility for their belongings, bringing book bags to school every day and ensure they come into school P.E. ready on Tuesday.   It is important for children to have an established routine at home which allows time for homework and shared reading.

  • Homework will be sent home on a Friday afternoon and is to be returned by the Thursday.
  • Spellings will be tested every Friday as part of the English lesson.
  • P.E. is on a Tuesday afternoon. Please make sure your child is P.E. ready so that they can take part.  They will need a white t-shirt, black shorts, their school jumper or cardigan and pumps or trainers.  All jewellery must be removed by parents before they come to school.
