Science is an exciting and stimulating part of our school curriculum. Pupils from Reception to Year 6 learn how to plan and carry out scientific investigations.
Areas taught include:
- Animals, including humans
- Living things and their environment
- Reversible and irreversible changes
- Rocks and soil
- Earth and Space
There are also many cross curricular links made between science and other areas, especially PSHE, Geography, PE, Maths and English. Teaching is made up of a mixture of visual, practical and investigative activities.
From 2014, an exciting new curriculum began, which teaches evolution and simple genetics.
Please use your child's year group page to find out further information about what they are learning about each half term!

Sundridge Science Week
Monday 13th March - Friday 17th March
Sundridge is pleased to announce Sundridge Science Week again, to coincide with British Science Week 2017 !
There will be a fun packed week full of inspiring science investigations where children can learn all about the theme of CHANGE.
On Thursday 16th March we will be holding the Science Fair. Children will be bringing in Science Projects to showcase what they have worked scientifically on.
If you need inspiration on what to investigate, see the websites below for amazing and inspiring ideas. Also included is a science plan to help children think scientifically and investigate methodically. The theme of the Science Fair Project does not have to be about Change. You can choose an investigation that interests you.
